SPIRIT AT WORK: A Journal
of Healing and
YOUR JOURNEY OF HEALING: A Workbook
by Lois M. Grant
Lois Grant calls herself
a "practitioner
of self-discovery," and the title couldn't
be more apt. Diagnosed in 1975 with crippling
rheumatoid arthritis, she was told she would
live in constant, frightful pain for the rest
of her life. She was effectively written off
by standard medicine, handing a fistful of
medications and told "good luck, have
as nice a life as you can under the circumstances." Lois,
a bright, creative and curious woman who thought
much more of herself than the doctors did,
decided that there had to be other answers
out there - and she set out to find them. The
journey of self-discovery that she took - along
the way encountering wonderful alternative
modalities for healing -- were chronicled in
her first book, SPIRIT AT WORK:
A Journey of Healing. How successful
was she? She counts her healing as complete
in July of 1997, when she took her last prescription
drug. Nowadays, you can't keep the woman still
- she does lectures, book tours, teaching and
healing work, all in a body that vibrates with
life, health and vitality.
However, Lois is not
one to keep the good stuff under her hat!
Her second book is a workbook
for everyone who is interested in growing personally,
spiritually and physically. She has taken her
decades-long journey and distilled it into
twelve easily-understood steps to give you
far-reaching tools for healing "what ails
you" - in whatever arena you find yourself
ailing.
Lois shares tips, thoughts, experiments and
exercises all through the book, all geared
for a universal level. You don't have to be
an experienced metaphysician to take advantage
of the solid support for your well-being that
flows through every paragraph. All you have
to do is be willing to examine new ideas regarding
how we create our illnesses, and how we can
shed them without surgery or drugs.
She makes very clear that her work can go
hand-in-hand with allopathic medicine; by no
means does she say not to trust your physician.
But she DOES give you alternatives that you
can use at the same time - and you just may
find that you are in far better shape than
you thought you could be by the end of the
workbook.
