Numerology is similar to Astrology in that it can accurately and deeply interpret a person's characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and even give a sense of timing for particular events in our lives. A Numerology chart is as intricate, detailed and comprehensive as an astrology chart.

Numerology teaches us that all growth is cyclical in nature: our purpose in earth life is to grow and evolve, and we spend several lifetimes at one level of evolvement before we are ready to progress to the next. Numerology is based on the understanding that we enter life with certain strengths and weaknesses, with one or more karmic lessons highlighting areas in which we are currently weak and which must be faced and worked on in this life. For me, this is the most outstanding aspect of working with Numerology.

When a competent Numerologist looks at someone's birth date and name numerology, it can swiftly open a window to their soul's choices for their present lifetime -- what karmic lessons are being worked on, whether or not there are 'relationship issues' in play during the lifetime, what talents and abilities have been honed through several lifetimes. When I utilize this during a psychic reading, I've noticed this insight often leads to spontaneously opening the psychic door to view a person's past lives.

Additionally, through numbers assigned to the letters of the alphabet and thereby the letters in our name, Numerology indicates how we as individuals function in the four planes of earthly existence: physical, mental, emotional and intuitive. It tells us not only about our personality, but also about our inner thoughts and motivations that influence our behavior even in ways we are not aware of. This system of certain numbers assigned to the alphabet also serves as the basis for numerologically interpreting street addresses, phone numbers, name changes, license plates, et cetera.

Numerology also gives clear insight into the timing of certain events and behaviors. For example, while there are many different numerological cycles in our lives, one of the most basic is the Personal Year cycle, which is measured in terms of calendar years rather than "birth date years" (from one birth date to the next), and is most intensely felt for the three-month periods before and after a person's birthday. Numerology says that these personal years run in nine-year cycles, or chapters. We begin a new chapter in our life with a new "1" Personal Year, and we end that chapter nine years later at the end of a "9" Personal Year. The issues (and often the relationships) we deal with during a 1 Personal Year are the same issues we are dealing with in some aspect or another for the eight years following that 1 Personal Year. It can be readily seen, for example, that during a 9 Personal Year the energies in one's life are more conducive to 'endings' rather than 'beginnings', and that important beginnings such as getting married or starting a new career should be put off to the following 1 Personal Year -- otherwise such beginnings will not be long-lasting or permanent.

A great number of clients want to gauge the potential for a relationship with someone they are interested in, and numerology can give great insight into this. Karmic connections between the two can be seen (if they exist); strengths, weaknesses, personality and behavior traits can be compared so that potential for a harmonious relationship, if any, can be determined. The Karmic connections often give clues as to whether or not a relationship is meant to be a life-long one or merely serve a short-term karmic purpose. If a client comes to me because of difficulties with a current relationship, I can assess the Karmic connections; determine whether personality or behavior characteristics are negatively impacting the relationship; and what, if anything, can be done to change the situation. There are times when I can clearly see when a person is not good "relationship material" -- when they are abusive, unfaithful, and otherwise too inconsiderate and incapable of unconditional love.

Sometimes a client needs counsel for confirmation: if they've made the right decision or if something they have been doing or feeling is the right thing for them at the time. Looking at their birth date numerology, I'm able to conclude whether they are following the path that they set for themselves in their pre-birth planning stage, or if they have strayed from their path and are expressing such a life path's negative energy instead.

While there may be some people who disagree, I find that astrology is used more for a look at someone's personality, and often used as a convenient excuse for why someone behaves the way they do. I find that it is only the advanced Astrologers who look at an astrology chart the same way I view a Numerology chart - using the information to see not just personality strengths and weaknesses, but also the essential Karmic aspects.
