 MUSIC
TO HEAL BY
By Frank Bozak
Music is quite possibly
our most powerful tool of transformation.
It has the power to affect us mentally, physically,
and spiritually.
Chances are, each and every person has had an experience where
music changed their mood and outlook on life.
This being the case, then
everyone has been healed by music. By combining my skills as a
film composer and Reiki Master, I create
music that has the power to transform
and to heal.
From the moment man first banged on a log or blew into a bone,
music has been used as a form of worship and a quest for knowledge
and healing.
Allowing the energy of music to restore your being is using music in
its most honorable form.
The energy of music flowing through your body can root out any negative
energy, then bring you back renewed and refreshed. Like all forms of
energy, music is composed of vibrations. When a musical tone is sounded,
it creates fifteen other measurable tones. These tones sound one right
after the other. This is known as the overtone series.
The pattern the overtone series creates is found throughout nature.
You can see a visual representation of this pattern when you drop a
rock
into a body of water. You will notice that the ripples move closer
and closer to each other, as they spread farther from the point of
entry.
This pattern is governed by the laws of physics and is also the crux
behind the string theory of the universe.
There are times when all the overtones get along peacefully. This creates
what is generally known as harmony. When the overtones clash, the music
is considered to be dissonant. In the type of healing music I compose,
I often use harmony as anesthesia, and dissonance as a scalpel.
Let's again use water as a visual analogy. Imagine your physical self
as a body of water. The music will first smooth the water's surface.
After the water has settled, dissonance will be introduced. The dissonance
disturbs the calm surface and begins to churn up debris from the depths
of the water. When the dissonance fades, harmony steps in to clear
the debris and calm the water's surface.
The goal of my compositions are to bring harmony, healing and peace
through music. I call upon my training and invite guidance to assist
me. Sometimes
I question what has been suggested, and I am soon learning a new lesson
in healing and composition.
There are many compositional techniques that incorporate numbers, so
I enjoy using numerology in my work. Being clairvoyant, I often score
my visual images. Something new comes out of each composition.
A large part of being a healer is the ability to read and sense energy.
After a section of the work has been completed, I lay down and let
my body listen to what has been created. This is my flinch test. If
I can
get through listening to it without flinching, then I move on.
Although I receive great healing benefits from this work, it is not
composed just for me to see my name on a CD cover. Music is what I
love to do,
and I am confident this is the way I can best serve the universe.
I often find a way to relate a subject to music so I can better understand
it. What came to my mind while writing this article is the correlation
of an intuitive reader and a composer. What struck me is that both
are dealing with energies that are not seen to the naked eye, and that
by
understanding the energy, negative outcomes can be avoided.
Whether you are trying to find the next right note, or sitting in front
of a trained reader, the energy you bring to the table is a direct
result of your actions up to this current measuring spot.
In music as it is in life, it is much harder to get out of a tense
situation then it is to get in one. The composer's job is to resolve
the tension
in a way that fits into a specific time frame, and must be pleasing
to all involved. A reader's job is to offer you insight on how to resolve
tension in a way that fits into a specific time frame and offers the
best options for all involved.
The first CD I created is entitled "Music For Your Spleen....Musical
Meditations Through the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine." This
tongue in cheek title came about quite a few years ago. I was attending
the Wesak Festival near Mt. Shasta, Ca. All the vendors had a crystal
for your left ear, or a poultice for your big toe. Everything seemed
funny to me. I joked to my friend who traveled with me and said 'what's
next, music for your spleen?'
I had been away from music for several years. It had been five years
since my last composition. I began to feel that if I didn't compose
again I would die. That title was stuck in my head for almost ten years.
I
knew that I had to compose music for your spleen.
During my research I learned that in Chinese medicine the function
of the spleen is to take whatever has been consumed and release its
pure
essence. That was exactly what I needed to do.
The CD contains five musical meditations: Lungs; Heart; Liver; Kidney;
and Spleen. Although you may not come away humming its melodies, I
am certain that you will feel more at peace after each listening. In
no
way am I suggesting that the music will be a cure for all ills. It
is an adjunct: a link from the past to the future.
My second CD is called " Release..." It is a fascinating
musical journey that aids in overcoming fears and assists in renewing
and releasing the best within you.
Every part of your body can feel and experience music. Whether it be
through my compositions or not, I hope that you will soon find harmony,
healing and peace through music.
Frank Bozak’s interest
in healing started while stationed with the
Navy Band in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He became
enamored with metaphysical activities in
and around Honolulu, attending as many events
as he could, and finding they all made sense.
Having no doubt that he was a healer, Frank
was soon a host psychic on a local television
show and a sought-after reader and healer
at many New Age events.
After serving eleven years in Navy
Bands in Orlando, Newport, and the
Pacific Fleet
in Pearl Harbor, Frank left to attend
the Berklee College of Music in Boston
as a film scoring major. After graduating with honors, he followed fellow
graduates
who relocated to Los Angeles to pursue work in the film industry. He collaborated
with an award winning composer, landing a job as an assistant music editor
on a prime time television series.
Three weeks after landing that job,
the show
was petitioned off the air and Frank was out of work. After many years of
trying to get back on my feet working
outside of his field, he acknowledged
that one
cannot hide one’s talents.
Though originally believing that scoring music for film and TV was his calling,
Frank now knows that combining his gifts as a Reiki Master and composer is the
best way he can serve the Universe.
