Lisa Dippo is funny, articulate
and full of energy. In fact, energy is
what she "gives to the world" through
working with Integrated Energy Therapy. "IET
was created by Stevan J. Thayer, and channels
the healing energy of angels," she
explains. According to Thayer, "IET
uses a divine angelic energy ray to work
directly with your 12-Strand Spiritual
DNA. IET supports you in safely and gently
releasing limiting energy patterns of your
past, empowering and balancing your life
in the present, and helps you to reach
for the stars as you evolve into your future."
What got her involved
with this alternative therapy? "In
2002 I was going through some personal
difficulties and felt myself headed for
an emotional breakdown. These difficulties
stemmed from deep within myself and not
from my surrounding environment, as I have
a loving marriage, good friends, and a
generally happy life. I didn't know the
source of my problems because it was at
a depth that I had never explored."
"Around this time,
I met the woman who later became my IET
instructor. After talking with her, she
asked if I would be interested in trying
an IET session and I accepted."
During an IET session,
the client lays on a massage table, fully
clothed. Practitioners can implement the
use of aromatherapy oils into the session,
as well as relaxing music. The practitioner
may apply a variety of essential oils to
several different areas of the body and
the feet. Then hands are laid on and energized,
so that they integrate energy into each
of the core cellular memory areas of the
body, beginning with the crown chakra (top
of the head), through to the kidneys. In
doing this, pent up emotion and cellular
memories are released from the body and
taken up by the angels, leaving the client
with a feeling of physical, emotional,
and spiritual well-being.
Lisa remembers, "Upon
completion of the session, I felt like
a different person. It was as though a
huge emotional weight had been removed
from me. After experiencing this, I decided
that I wanted to learn this technique so
that I could pass on the gifts that were
given to me. . . those which afforded me
healing that very possibly saved my life."
How often is it useful
to have an IET session? "I found that
for most people, it is ideal to have this
work done on a monthly basis."
IET, like other energy
modalities such as Reiki, Shiatsu or Polarity
Therapy, requires training and time to
gain true expertise. There are three levels
of certification for an IET practitioner:
Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
Each class lasts approximately eight hours
and includes instruction on technique,
hands-on practice, and an energetic attunement.
After the three levels, one has the option
of taking the Master Instructor Course.
This is the certification to teach IET. "Two
months after completing the Advanced IET
practitioner class, I completed my Master
Instructor training," says Lisa. "This
class lasts sixteen hours and is given
over the period of one weekend. This training
includes teacher-training, business training,
technique, and a Master Instructor-level
attunement. With this certification, an
individual is permitted to train people
in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels
of IET and certify them as practitioners
only." She shakes her head. "No
one at my level teaches or certifies another
individual to Master Instructor level.
Only four people have that right, including
Stevan Thayer himself, who is still very
involved with IET.
Are there particular diseases
or problems that IET is especially good
for? Linda laughs. "I would say that
it is helpful to ALL conditions! It's a
versatile and complementary modality, and
works extremely well with other holistic
modalities." She thinks for a minute. "I
suppose if I were to focus on one condition
it affects most profoundly, I'd say emotional
and physical trauma, especially for anyone
who has suffered abuse of any kind."
The reason for that? "The
client best works with the energies of
IET by focusing on release. It is best
to surrender to Spirit and pray for healing
and be willing to let go. Visualization
also helps during the session. As a practitioner
is working with me, I like to visualize
the negative energy leaving the area that
he or she is working on. It makes a huge
difference!"
What happens AFTER an
IET session? "A person is likely to
feel like a weight has been lifted -- refreshed,
and at peace. For some, the result is immediate.
For others, it may take a few days or even
a week. It all depends on the individual.
It is important to drink plenty of water
and allow yourself to rest or sleep shortly
after a session so that the emotional,
physical and spiritual body can heal itself."
Linda does have a caution. "IET
(or any holistic therapy) is NEVER a replacement
for professional medical treatment. It
is only to be used as a complementary therapy,
rather than an alternative. It can, however,
assist and help ease a person in getting
through the stresses involved in aggressive
treatments such as chemotherapy."
When we ask for a favorite
success story, Linda has one right away. "There
was a lovely elderly lady that I treated
at a nursing home. She was a concentration
camp survivor and had Alzheimer's disease.
She did not speak English and communicated
mostly with eye movements and expressions.
She was for the most part in a reclining
chair, so I had to modify the hand positions
to carry out the IET session. Upon beginning,
I could sense and almost see her life.
. . and her sadnesses of the painful past
she endured as a young girl. She was fragile
and could not withstand very much energy.
. . so I shortened the procedure for each
cellular memory area focused upon. At the
end of the session, her eyes opened wide
and she smiled beautifully. . . Her daughter
entered the room and with amazement, said
that she had never seen her mother's eyes
look so clear and alert. . . They spoke
to each other in their native language
and it was obvious that this lady was filled
with joy." She grins."And I get
to do that for my life's work. How lucky
is THAT?"
